Is there any particular reason for wanting an LPG converted RX8 . other than the cost compared to gasoline/petrol/Benzin ?

Well, there are some in the Frankenstein thread that would argue RPG is more accurate for the Renesis.

If you don't plan to spend an arm and a leg on nearly everything, I wouldn't recommend any sort of newer sports car. As cars get more advanced, companies need more R&D to create effective parts. This means they will charge more. Owning a sporty car is a lifestyle, there's no way around paying a lot. Not to bash or anything, but cheap + sporty usually = bad.

Rx8 insurance is lower than many other sports cars. Its treated as a 4 door, has a 1.3 liter, and a 5 star roll rating. Sure it's probably more than insurance on a civic or something...

I gave up all hope for financially wisdom when I fell in love with this car. If you don't love it, you will hate it. And it will eat your wallet. And possibly the clothes off your back, but you really don't need those to drive anyway.

At 18 I would advise not to step in the rx8's turf..
Unless, you are financially stable and this will not be your only means of commute and will be working on it mostly yourself, parts are expensive, modifications are very difficult and expensive.
More than money, i feel rx8 requires, dedication, passion, attention, it not just a car its a hate it or love it relationship..
Or at least, research as much as you can before buying one it's a great car, it can be very reliable and a blast to drive.

LPG does not contain a lubricant as does petrol/gasoline. My 2cents worth.

Doesn't produce carbon deposits either :o

But yeah if you're worried about saving money, this is not the car for you. Not that it's expensive to maintain, it's that if you skimp on maintenance you might land yourself in more expensive trouble than whatever you might have saved. Especially if buying a used car with unknown maintenance history.

Thank alot guys. Honestly appreciate your advice. I got interested in tthe rx8 mostly because of its looks and online reviews of people being in love with driving the car. I thought itd be easy to maintain aslong as you let the car warm up before driving or turning it off, change the oil after every 3000miles and rev it up to 5000 to 9000 rpm every now and then with in the day. But it seems theres alot more to it so I guess ill be getting a vw golf or something

... petrol is not very lubricating anyways. You engine gets its lubrication from engine oil. Lpg would not be causing any harm...
