It's not reliable, do not buy one. Get out before the others come.

For a quick and easy answer, if you are on a tight budget and have relatively little to spend on upkeep, no, do not use an 8 as a daily driver. Sure, it is a great deal of fun to drive but, like all things fun, you have to expect to pay for your entertainment and the 8 is no exception.

I am not 100% certain exactly what all this says, but near as I can figure, the main question is one that could be answered by reading the new/potential owners thread

Depends on the one you buy..
Read up, the engine is the big deal. I got mine 70,000 miles ago. It has 65,000 miles on it. Engine was replaced at 40,000 miles. I did the stuff in the congrats thread below. The car has over 8,000 track miles on it. But, I fiddle with it. I learned a lot about how it runs and how to fix stuff. Some of that learning led to other learning.
Mine is my DD, I have options, and a carpool, so I do not mind catching a ride. If it were my DD, I just would have scheduled mods around when I needed the car.
Not sure if that helps, but it is a dandy daily driver if you look after it. Make sure you have a good engine (compression test) and pick up that warranty. Also, make sure you change the oil every 3K miles and drive both engines (the 2K to 5K engine around town and the 6K to 9K happy face engine occasionally). Remember, it is a street car, holding every shift to redline will kill anything.
that help?

I think people did a good job of answering the question here, but I am locking this before it gets out of hand. I'm sorry Shameless but you already had a thread similar to this before it met the same fate. Please take some time to read the links in my thread and you will get a better understanding of the car and its quirks
