Sorry if this has been posted before but ive just bough an rx8 with 65000 on clock im just wondering what oil do i used the man give me part sythetic 5-30 and said you will need to put 1 litre in every 1000 miles but i dunno what oil to use everyone saying different?

I use dino oil. I change every 3,333 miles and before I go to the track.

I put oil in when it gets low, I check every few tanks of gas.

I have 130,000 miles on the car, and close to 100,000 on the engine.

The Mazda Promo Videos I've seen say you should use non sythetic oil because they diden't know the long term effects on the apex seals. 5-30w is the correct type as stated in the manual!
8's use a lot of oil because it lubricates the engine just like a two stroke. This oil is taken directly from the sump so the cleaner the oil the less chance of crap getting into the engine, burning off the apex seals.

you need to check it, not just randomly add 1 liter every 1000 miles. Check your oil every other fill up, each dot on the dipstick is about 1/2 a liter so fill accordingly. Do not overfill it! Lastly, do some searches here and alot of reading so you know what you need to do to keep this car running tip top.
