VA 'mazda rx8' isn't a good thread title. This thread is about shutting off an RX-8

OK so i researched in my hopes to find what the proper start/shutoff procedure is.
There seems to be pros and cons to almost all of them, can anyone tell me what the proper procedure should be.

there's also a you tube video that says to rev engine hold gas pedal then to shut off the engine while holding the gas and reeving.

By tho way i have a 07 Rx8. I would like to prevent any flooding.

Thanks

I gather you haven't read the New Owner's thread yet? This question has it's own section.

Also, please read the rules, the thread title isn't descriptive of the content.

Mine doesn't flood even though i accidentally shut if off when cold. Some of them flood, but mine doesn't, and i don't know why. You could drive it like any other car out there and turn it on and shut it off like any other car...that's it.

I've only flooded when spark plugs and wires needed to be changed.

My - do you have the owner's manual and Quick Tips guide? If not, download them from mazdausa.com. The QT guide gives the proper start/stop procedures in a nutshell.

Be careful about on-line info about RX-8s other than this site. Even here there are a few jokers, but they usually get corrected quickly.
