I’ve mechanically nearly finished everything with getting the engine turning over yesterday. I’ve used a 2.3 t5 from a v70 with the original rx8 gearbox, focus st225 intake, clutch and flywheel with loads of other parts. I’ve gone for a t70 turbo from maxpeedingrods (which might be a little big for the weaker rods) but If anyone wants to know how I’ve any of it or possibly know anyways to do it better please let me know 😁
cheers
Ethan 😊

I was hoping to get it started this weekend or the next.
I’m using the original Volvo me7 ecu to see if it’ll fire up but wanting to switch to a Maxxecu next year.
try not to look too close at my swap as it is my first engine removal/ engine swap 😬😂

Hey man, T5 swap idea sounds interesting but keep in mind RX-8 was designed around the rotary. Doing a T5 swap is not just fitting the engine, you’re looking at loads of wiring, suspension, transmission, cooling issues etc. It’s not gonna be simple or cheap.
Also, you'll lose what makes RX-8 unique – the rotary. Not saying it won’t work, but be ready for major mods and costs. Some people have done swaps, but there’s always a catch, something won’t fit easily.
