If you got a compression test before purchase and it passed with flying colors, then no, yours doesn't.

If you got a compression test before purchase and it failed, then yes, yours does.

If you didn't get a compression test before purchase, then yes, yours has a good chance of having problems (because people dump bad engine RX-8s into used car dealerships all the time, it's a rather high % of them with problems)

Yes, of course you can get a compression test done still. It's recommended so you know what you have. Your local dealer can do it, or if you happen to be near a shop that has a rotary engine compression tester, then they could do it too. A normal compression tester won't work. See the link in the prior post for why.

Once you know what the health of the engine is, you will have a good starting point for what to expect. Without knowing that... you just don't know.

Considering your usage of a few terms isn't common to the US, I expect that even if I were to give you a US price, it wouldn't apply. You haven't indicated where you actually are (I recommend adding it to your profile so we see it to the left of your posts).

In the US, it can vary from $90 to $250 at a dealer. Rotary shops can charge anywhere from free to $150.

That shop would be a better place to ask that particular question.
