My rx8 is just whining!
Ok, somebody out there please give me an idea. My 2006 rx8 with 78,000 miles was just fine on Friday and today it won't start. Engine sounds like it's just whining. Don't have a clue. Please HELP?! And go easy on me here!

Usually battery is a good place to start.
Super easy to leave a light on and drop battery V to where it cranks slowly or not at all
Another easy thing with a rotary is flooding it...usually it will spin fast but make no pulse noises
Much less common is something catastrophic...m that usually doesn't happen sitting
Had the solenoid trigger wire fall off the starter once. ....Won't even click then

sounds like it might be the engine just spinning, but not turning on. Test the battery. If it can still be recharge, charge it and then try turning the car on. Usually autozone or other parts stores will charge the battery for free. If car does not turn on, maybe it is flooded. Do the deflood procedure. It may take 30mins-1 hour. Make sure you have a battery jumper/booster 'cos you're going to be draining the battery a lot.
