I have an 85 RX7 with 342,000 miles that just died. I got 260,000 out of first motor and 82,000 out of second. Great condition car otherwise, but not gonna put any more money into it, will find someone who might buy it cheap from me. And hate to see it go to wrecking yard. To good to go there. Anyway, I see a 2005 RX8 with 147,000 on car but with a new engine. I read good and bad about the RX8, but I love this car and I know the maintainence required, warming it up, red lining, keeping oil chaned and topped up, premixing fuel (?), reving to 3000k and shutting off there, to always warm it to operating temperature before shutting down. It will not be a daily driver but a few times per week. Anyway, I like this car, but would you recommend this car or should I avoid it. Any other maintenance advice if I get it?Thank you for any help with this. LeRoy

They're great cars, but get a compression test before you buy. You don't want previous owner problems, even with a replacement engine. Who knows what they replaced it with.
