TX Need Advice: T-Boned Rx-8 with decent compression

Hey everyone. Got in a freeway wreck today after one of my rear tires went flat.
Any suggestions for a t-boned 8 with good compression? Part out and sell the engine or buy a roller and transfer the engine and transmission? Damage to the car is on the passenger side. I really loved this car so I may be seeing things with rose-tinted glasses. Could use some realistic advice.

Compression is as follows on 07/24/2022, taken with the engine after it warmed up.
Front Rotor: 105/100/96
Rear Rotor: 100/102/108

Sorry to hear of your misfortune

Are you able to do the work of swapping the engine jnto a different car yourself ?
I think that would be a major determining factor for me.

I have access to a shop and some help to pull the engine, not entirely sure about engine storage though in the meantime. Does it have to sit on an engine stand or can I leave it in a corner for the time being on a pallet? Either ways the engine would probably have to come out unless I sold it to copart.

It can sit, just make sure there's no way for stuff/critters/etc. to get inside, and drain what you can out of it. Masking tape is the usual tool for this task.

Thanks, that makes sense. Would you just tape up openings or something?

Yes exactly just tape.over any openings keep critters, bugs, dirt out and can sit there waiting for you.

Thats good you have someone where to do the work makes it worth it to save in my opinion.

Depends how you take it out, but that's the point. Any openings get tape. If you have an opening that's difficult to tape for some reason, it's not a religious thing. I've used the fingers from nitrile gloves, entire nitrile gloves, shop rags, and all sorts of other random things to seal off holes in the past. It's not a science.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah I guess. Bought the car off copart after sleuthing through service records for the car which seemed legit. Got it running again after fixing brake and misfire issues so it's really frustrating to see it done for. Seems like the previous owner passed away before the car was auctioned. Guess it's going to join him now.
