You could probably find jack stands or ramps (I guess allot of people here use ramps) on craigslist too.

Yeah i need aomething secure, if i was crushed and killed, my wife would bring be back with a medium just to ghost bust my A$$...
All kidding aside, ill try to get a set of ramps. Hope they arent too much.
Here is a question that i have been nervous to ask. The understay is fromw what I understand, essential to coolig, how exactly? It stops hot air from being recirculated through the radiator? So the tray connects to the radiator, and extends to the bumper, is that the logic behind it, so it should have some vents of course as to prevent and kind of bottlene king effect?
Now that i have unleashed my full noobness, let me know, i will get started tomorrow with sheet metal from the onestop shop automotive hardware and repair DIY, Home Depot... LOLLL

The tray also helps direct sir through the radiator when at speed of any sort. It also makes the car more stable st higher speeds(100+) IMHO.
The tray extends a little under the radiator. It also has side walls.
here are my homemade uprights next to the stock ones.
and a view of the front of my car. ignore the shiny alum box and silicone boots.
Rough measurements for the pourpose of purchasing materials. 31" wide. 24" deep for the bottom. 17" long x 10 Tall for the uprights. That is before figuring in any bends and mounting points.

Hi,
I just found out, fan relay #1 and #2 are controlling the fan on the right, "facing the car view" and fan relay #3 is controlling the fan on the left.
This does not strike me as normal. The fan on the right will not spin unless both relays are plugged in.
Also i installed a stock relay and the fan doesnt seem to be apunning faster, i guess i have to bite the bullet and buy super fans. Something to move 3x more air. The car performed better today than it has since i got it "heating wise"
I guess the lower tray and badass fans is the answer. It will sometimes get hot while im moving on the highway, so that tells me the fans are not doing the job. Ugh...
Can someone tell me a target CFM rating i should aim for? Current fans are moving 880cfm. X2. Also... why does the RX8 have three fan relays???

I have a Mazda specialty junkyard here in Dallas. Toast, if shipping was reasonable, I would happily be your middleman. (I'll buy what you need at junkyard. Ship to the islands, you reimburse me)
Can someone more in the know tell Toast what he needs? I assume it's the three pulleys and a belt?

The fans do not do anything when you are driving down the highway. You need the undertray to force air through the radiator instead of letting it flow under the car when the car is moving. The fans contribute to cooling when the car is sitting still only.
You need to fix both things, but you also need to understand how each component works.

The tray was probably messed up from a front end accident and never replaced.
Mazda nissan Heaven hasen't had many 8's when I've looked there. but they normally have 1-2. There is a place down 287 in kennendale that has a nice blue car(rear end damage) and a decent yellow. He has had the blue for years and doesn't want to sell anything except the front clip.

Hey chris, thanks for that offer!! A lower heat shield would be pretty awesome if you can getbyour hands on one.
I just purchased an aluminum under tray on ebay. After I install it, I will post the results. I hope that is the last missing piece of the puzzle. The car maintains its temp untill i accelerate. So it feels like im right there.

Can you update us on what you've done so far, to avoid confusion?
The reason there are three fan relays is obnoxious but still good to know.
There are effectively 3 modes for the fans on the Series I, I think series II has 4 modes total.
Mode A - Only Relay 1 is powered - Fans L and R on in series (both at low speed)
Mode B - Relays 1, 2, and 3 are powered - Fans L and R are in Parallel (Both at High Speed)
Mode C - No Relays are powered - No fans are on
On a stock tuned car Mode A is active above 97C, Mode B is active above 101C, and Mode C is active below 97C or above 10kph
I included the little animation if you want to look at how the relays work, it's different than in Series II cars, I think they have another relay or control relays 2 and 3 separately.

Well I have a stock relay in number 2, there is a stock relay in number 3 also, number one still is connected to the after market sensor, that relay should be here in 2 or three days.
I have an aluminium under tray coming from ebay, I think I have to fabricate the sides for it, it only has the flat tray part.
Aside from that, I made my own lower heat shield so the fan doesn't heat blast my intake. I make a makeshift intake out of stuff from home depot. The filter was inside the engine bay sucking up hot air from the radiator fan, essentially suffocating its self.
prior, the car would overheat within just a few minutes of driving, now it maintains a stable temperature until I accelerate. If i gas it and then come to a stop, I am in big trouble.

Ok so the check engine light was from a misfire in the leading plugs.
I did a compression test, 98 dry and 125 wet. Thats good right?
So no more check engine light, just the tire sensor staying on, i want disable it, ill google that i guess. Feels good to drive my car and have it in good working order, i cant wait to get the under tray on...

That compression test really means nothing. you need a rotary specific test. IT'll give you 3 pressurs per a rotor and an rpm rating.
So you'll have 6 pressures and 2 speeds.
also what do you mean by dry and wet?

Tested the compression with the csr running and not running, removed the fuel pump fuses. I guess that was a waste of time then?

I'm going turbo in the next month. I should have a stock air box, stock intake, and I was going to offer you a stock splash shield ( I am also going aluminum). But you got that settled.
Let me see what parts come off. You can have anything you need, for the price of shipping.

well the actual pressures are in KPA or something like that so mazda numbers are like 6.1-9. Some where in between. I don't know how it translates to PSI.
The specific test. Measures each rotor face. Then compares them to each other. and there is a rpm based adjustment. Since our motors normally seal better as rpm's go up.

This is my attempt at a makeshift heat shield, I have spent all my money and I am getting desperate to end this overheating issue. This should prevent the fan from turning the intake molten. I am not sure where the air will go.
Please let me know if I screwed up and if adjustments need to be made. I did what I could ...

Owner before me sold it like a retard. I have to buy another... i picked up the car for 2k... turning out to be a bad investment because i put about 4k into it now and still have plenty of issues.
But that's ok... its my car and I will fix it. Money comes and goes, but I do love the feel of the Rx8.
