need help, 05 rx8 no start with only 50,000kms
i just bought this car and it needed work.
car has 50,000kms not miles. very low but must have blown seal or something as it has oil in air box.
he said it did run but wouldn't start now. seems to be flooded. i cleaned the spark plugs and tried running without the fuel filter to burn up the fuel
any ideas? if it does need to be rebuilt does anyone know where to get a kit for reasonable price?
I've been looking online and it says to crank it over and over with battery charger attached to unflood it.
thanks

clean the oil out of intake and make sure its not overfilled. replacing ignition should be done if its not known how old it is. sounds flooded, if its a stick you can pull/push start it. clean ess, maf and do the 20 break stomp

To figure out for good whether the car has failing compression or not you need to perform a compression test. This should be your next priority once you get the car running. The compression test will tell you whether you need an engine rebuild/replacement. Let's keep the conversation for cost/options of replacing/rebuilding a rotary engine for later…Hopefully, your issue is not a failing engine but failing ignition components (plugs, wires, coils, starter).

Life After 8K RPM....
Clean the oil from intake, the intake tubes, and clean the throttle body. The oil is there due to overfilling or filling oil without funnel.
follow the deflooding procedure. And as mentioned above, replace the ignition components and get a compression test to determine wether you have a failing engine or not.
All the best..Hope this helps

update. I got it going. runs good but does push out alittle rad fluid after driving for awhile
I will change thermostat and rad cap tomorrow and see if that fixes that.
still need to find pcv kit to install as I know the 2006 have it and they make an upgrade kit for the 2004-05 so will do that.
any idea on where to get this kit. local auto store doesn't have much for this car.
fun car to drive though

no its running now, no codes. been driving it for over a week. over 1000kms
water level fine, oil within limit. cleaned out the airbox and tubing and no oil has shown up yet.
still going to buy the PCV kit for the car but dealer wants 325. cheapest I can find the kit online is 250. if anyone knows a cheaper place for the pcv kit let me know lol
