My symptoms are very slow revs up to 4k and won't go past. And barely make it up a Hill. Other then that sounds good and runs good.

What’s the level of your oil, if it’s 1st series and your rpm over 9k It could have soaked your intake with oil. Check your intake, clean it, clean filter and clean maf sensor. Reset your ecu. I have series 1 and only fill to the middle mark solved my problem also added a oil catch can.

Then, do you have any way to check for codes? Most issues will store CEL codes, but not the OMP position sensor in certain conditions.

I fixed it. The very hard drive pushed oil passed the oring on the block off plate between the Omp and the engine. The oil then ran down into the harness and onto a bare wire. Boom limp mode. Cleaned up wires resealed block off plate and relocated the Omp up beside battery.

Yeah I think that’s what he posted in the thread, honestly for a few 100 bucks it’s worth getting a sohn and premixing on top of it. I use about 5-6oz per tank while using the sohn adapter. Engine seems to like it and I have minimal smoke

Ya I have been premixing only with this build. It's never had the Omp on it from day one. But it was in its place in the past with a block off plate. But I recently moved it up there away from the wheel. The engine is doing good. Well as good as it was when I got it built by a local company.

Offtopic, but I'd like to dig into this. It has made my life easier by leaving high quality synth in the pan where it belongs and running two stroke that I can replace easily through the oil injection system. That alone is worth $100 in not burning expensive oil over the life of the car. Does 2 stroke oil perform better than engine oil in the injection function? Who knows. I don't think it can be worse though?

Could there be a possibility it's beneficial then?
Serious question.
I'm not sure after talking to Kyle at The Rotary Doctor if I want to install the new Sohn bundle I have.
He's not convinced either.
To be honest, I always thought keeping that little reservoir topped off could be a pain.

The Sohn doesn't change the injection rate or how much oil the cat sees. I would argue that (JASO FD) 2 stroke throws less at the cat than engine oil does. The definition of JASO rating is a certain low threshold of exhaust ash and byproduct content. Later API ratings for engine oil also dial down inorganic additives, so sure, maybe they're in the same ballpark if you're using synthetics. Certainly not if you're using mineral engine oil.
Exhaust temp : why is this a factor? In both cases oil doesn't survive the exhaust stream. It's hundreds of degrees above flashpoint.

you do err; it’s not that I don’t have anything to offer, but rather recognize when the labor of working it isn’t going yield any fruit:

Hello I'm catless and do not run a Sohn. Or an Omp for that matter. Completely dependant on 2stroke mix in gas tank. The Sohn is gravity fed which means in hard corners or acceleration it can slow down the feed of oil. Also as mentioned the Sohn doesn't increase the feed rate. It just replaces the source. But a premix is an increase if you think about it. It's getting oil even at idle. 😉

and some people will never come to admit to their placebo addiction.
you’ll never see a Sohn on any rotary engine I ever run and if it wasn’t for rules compliance reasons I would have been doing the same thing you are from a long time ago. Some people still believe that old wives tale about premix and Renesis not being compatible.
