Need help please respond
I just bought mazda rx8 this is my second one I've own . The last one olike sold this one I just got 2 days again. While on freeway noticed my car wouldn't go in gear 5 or 6 and eventually car when I would press accelerate pedal and wouldn't go. Finally pull off on shoulder of freeway and when pop it in first wouldn't move . So I turn off and wait ten minutes and I turn on again I put in first and wouldn't move and turn off again five minutes and turn back on put in first wouldn't move accurate. It would just rev. Finally turn off and waited again . But this time when try turn on wouldn't even turn on. Long story short flatbed took my house and now I don't know what it could be. I ask around every one give me different answer. They said could be slave clutch or clutch or throttle bearing or even my cable loose shifter or its transmission. Need help anyone might know what do. It's in my front yard and try start it . It cranks but doesn't turn on... please help

Ouch, Bummer.
first, there is no cable for the shifter. It is all mechanical.
Second, sounds like 2 problems. One, you say the car will not start any more, two it appears that transmission is still stuck in gear, right? Does the clutch pedal move in and out?

Not starting could be due to a flooded engine. Search for 'deflood procedure'. Since this is a new car to you, pull the spark plugs and see what condition they're in. Perhaps you need new ones.
The shifting issue, when you tried to accelerate, were the engine rpm increasing but not the car speed, or nothing was increasing?
If engine rpm increasing but not car speed -- worn out clutch.

The clutch pedal does go down and let's it go into gear and and when try pull off forward it won't move it will just rev rpm. And now it won't turn on . My plan just buy new clutch and get install and if that doesn't work must be transmision.

Can you clarify if the pedal moves up and down properly? Does it get stuck?
It's a bit difficult to understand but it sounds like you have 1) finished clutch and 2) flooded engine which points to 3) weak ignition.
If the engine turns when you try to start it, your starter is fine. Burning smell could be from the clutch. It's also not the transmission.
So,
1) Perform the deflood procedure until you can start the car:

2) If the clutch pedal moves fine, replace the clutch
3) Replace the ignition coils, wires and spark plugs, unless you have information from the previous owner that they were recently replaced.

Hi ran in a similar issue a few months back.
Except my car came to proper stop in the parking lot and then i was not able to shift it in any gear while the car was idling.
However, the gear would shift smoothly when ignition was off..
Clutch pedal was already re-inforced. My clutch would go down and come back up all the way just fine.
I had the shop inspect the drivetrain, and we found out my pressure plate was shattered.
We ended up swapping the entire clutch .

A similar thing happened to a friends R3. It didn't go into 5th or 6th. Few seconds later it didn't go into any gear. Car didn't move at all. We had to drop the transmission to find out what's wrong. Turned out to be the clutch fork. After multiple "not so perfect" gear chances without pressing the clutch properly, it had broken into two. Turned out to be a cheap repair. Just welded it back together.
Without dropping the transmission, you can't tell for sure man. It could be the plates like one guy said, and it could be something really simple as this.
Like others said, it won't start because it's probably flooded. Deflood it first. Search for the guide. Next time, don't shut the car until it warms up. You can turn it on and off as much as you want while the engine is not. But not when cold. Let it warm up before shutoff.

I didnt know where else to put this because im new to the site, but i'm having a huge issue with my rx8. The car started to drop below 1k rpms and then kept bouncing only to turn off on me as i was driving. All the lights came up as if i just stalled the car but im 100% sure i didnt. I had to turn it on multiple times as i was rolling with the car off.

Post your own thread in the new members forum.
You need to give more information ONCE YOU START YOUR OWN THREAD.
Tell us:
Any CELs (check engine lights)?

Have you read the new members thread? I recommend you do
