New 2010 Crystal White R3
Hey all. I just put a down payment on the car today. I love it - the seats fit me like a glove. I will be tracking it. I know it's not the fastest thing I can get for the money, and I wanted something with great handling, and won't get myself killed, or tickets ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'm near Toronto, and will definitely be at Mosport and TMP. I hope to meet the members at car shows.
Cheers
Chris

I test drove a 2005 RX8 two weeks ago with a rebuilt engine from RX tuning. It gave me butterflies! The 2005 owner went on vacation for a couple of weeks, and then this R3 came up for sale. It had only been on autotrader a day or so when I called the dealer. I'm buying it as-is, and need tires and brakes to certify. It passes emissions. I'm getting it super cheap, and dealers in Ontario have a buy back period.
This car is not as strong as the 2005. It has 140,000 km. Are you suggesting I should stop the sale if the compression is too low? I'm hoping it just needs a tune up. I will request a compression test asap.
I'm still satisfied with the power. I figure I still have 2.5 years on the engine warranty (whatever that's worth). Honestly, I was so dazzled that I skipped over many of the common check list points.

It does have a 8 year/100K mile engine core warranty. I didn't realize the S2 R3 had headlight washers.

Thanks everyone. This forum helped me to decide to buy this car. I'm sure it will guide me to mod it too.
I'm picking it up Saturday. I'll keep it stock the first year...except for tint, some nice tires, and rust proofing (yay Ontario).

I'm just in Newmarket. I can't make the 400 &7 meet. Do you meet at Woodbine and 16?

That's right ouimetnick. Another clay bar session, and it should be smooth as a baby's bum.
I took it to Cayuga yesterday. There was a Porsche GT3, Gallardo race car, M4 race car, Corvette race car, and a 2006 Black RX8 there too. After an alignment, and replacing the worn brakes, it should be plenty of fun. I couldn't get it to slide with the Pole position S04...they just went away after a couple of laps :/ I'm much more confident driving this car at the [high] limit now. Everything feels super slow now. I hate my Malibu even more![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
fwiw, I averaged 10 L/100km on the 170 km trip home...23.4 mpg! I set cruise control to 111 kph (69 mph) with a little traffic and a couple of blasts to 130 (on ramps).
