New to this
Hey guys I'm new to here I've previously had a couple of rx7s but this is my first 8.
It's an 06 6spd 90kmiles. I recently flooded it. First time it'd ever happened I only shut it down when it's to temp. It has new coils new plugs reset the ess. I figured after flooding it I had fouled plugs as once it started it had a bad misfire on idle and up to about 2krpm. When I did the plugs they look fine. I also have a strange chirp or almost rapid puffs of what sounds almost like air. Wondering if you've ever came across this. Giving anyone a misfire from that or potential vacuum leak. It just seems bizarre to me as it was so sudden. Car had been running awesome and just stalled on a start up once then ran like trash evwr since. Even despite coils and plugs.

no codes not even anything pending its just so bizarre the car ran so well the past 2 weeks started and stopped just fine hot started just fine. Stalled on a start up then i had to push start it. Then misfired i had coils and plugs to do so i did them and misfire persisted. I always run premium fuel and non synthetic oil yet i just have a sneaking suspicion its a stuck apex seal

no I got it in thunder bay it's an 06 shinka im actually a tech lol worked on the car back when it only had 30k km fell in love wasnt i a position to get it then. Someone traded it back in I know the customer well. He was very experienced in proper rotary ownership, proper warm up and cool down proper oil could plugs the whole bit engine was very very strong. I know these give you subtle warnings when they are on their way out. Which is why I'm so confused because it ran so good then just nothing suddenly. I feel it might be a stuck seal. I'm going to pull the exhaust manifold this weekend and make sure each seal moves freely so I will provide an update then. I'm not afraid of having to rebuild it. Not my first rodeo there but this seems so left field to me on how this happened. Had never given me a hot start issue and it has the old starter that turns very slow, cat is gutted. I pulled the two trailing plugs as it was all I could reach from the top and they look good. So I doubt when I pull the leading plugs that I'll see anything different

If it is a stuck apex seal, how do you go about fixing that? And what causes that to happen, carbon build up?
