new 8 owner in Calgary
Hi All,
just wanted to introduce myself. Been spending the last 2 weeks educating myself about the 8. there is a lot of good info here.
well a bit about the car, it's an 04 winning blue GT with 175k kms on it (~109k miles) it's not in perfect condition, but that gives me a bit of a project.
so far I've change the front O2 sensor, oil change, air filter and battery to start with.
next;
- coils, spark plug and wires. ( running really rich still even after the O2 sensor replacement.)
- new tires
- figure out what's wrong with the after market deck (really loud, and has a constant loud hissing sound even if volume is at 0)
- trans and diff fluid
-new windshield (this is normal for calgary)
anyways, the little bit I've driven it, I've be very happy, I love the way the car drives.
thanks for reading

Welcome, and nice car! I would recommend the BHR ignition kit for reliability and customer service (The best you can get). Also, it wouldn't hurt to get a compression test done - Is that the KM on the original engine?
Good luck, nice to see someone close by! (I'm in Spruce Grove)

From what I can see the Kms are original. I went to mazda to get the warranty list on it. and it showed no engine replacement. I found a rotary specialist shop here that will do a compression test for just over $100 so I'll take it to them the next time I'm back in town
Nice. from the Canadian section there a couple of us out there. we should have an Alberta meet some time this summer
Thanks guys
