Welcome to the addiction
That's good to hear. I remember your enthusiasm in your thread.
Even better with a fresh RR rebuild.
What color is it?
I have a '04 LYGT, bought it with 18.5k nearly 4 yrs ago and it has been my DD except for snow days.
+53k now, and I love it more than ever.
Cat was bad when I bought it, replaced it with a BHR midpipe.
Put a fuel pump on it last year, and it's second battery a few weeks ago.
Other than that, it's been great.

Awesome! I posted a pic, it's BB. It has an (unknown) cat back on it. I picked up a cheap used catless midpipe for it but hated the sound going to put a new resonator on it and I'll try it again, lol. Cat is good, but always a concern with premixing especially, haha. It's definitely my new addiction. Awesome cars. I knew it was for me the moment I (re) set my eyes on them. Stuck to it, and glad I did!

Ah ok. Yep she's black needs some work. Paint job in the next year or so most likely, as long as mechanical stuff doesn't pop up first. That's the goal though, fix all the imperfections and have the BB fully 'restored'.

IIrc, the BB and LY are the only 8 colors with no mica in the paint.
I often wonder how mine would look with it.
Will you repaint it the same BB?

I have a few of the common issues still.
Driver's visor is loose, I got it to stay up, don't use it.
'Someone' here talked about a new possible fix for it, still waiting.

Right taillight had condensation, fixed it with the updated gasket.

The heater temp control is twitchy in cold weather, waiting for it to quit working before I fix it.

The right door speaker cuts out, cheap relays go bad, Idk when or if I'll deal with that.

Fuel pump went out last year, you might consider replacing it as a preventive maintenance item.
It could save you from being stranded and a tow bill.
I would recommend it, and consider buying or borrowing a BHR ring tool.
That ring is a major PITA.
I rented a universal tool and chewed it up pretty bad, barely got it off.
*edit* It's also a good idea to plan on doing it with low fuel, mine was full, gas pours out all over, and takes a few days for the smell to go away.
Keep us updated with your experiences.
Have fun!

I do have AAA with 100 miles free towing, but I'll keep the fuel pump in mind.

Yeah it sounds like the visor thing is a common problem, mine was replaced/fixed at some point by dealer (saw it in the carfax, lol)

As for the paint... There is a small chance I will just have the "problem areas" repainted and then have the remainder of the car cut/buffed properly, etc... as some panels are flawless other than swirls in the clear and some definitely need dings filled or complete repaint (some spider webbing on the front bumper, etc).. IF I went that route than obv, it would stay OEM BB.... but If I end up having the whole car worked and resprayed (ideally)... I thought about keeping the BB base coat and have a very slight flake added to the clear coat.. but we'll see.

I want to take care of anything mechanical and a few other "wants" prior to the paint work. That will be a big expense, and although needed, it isn't immediately necessary, as from a few feet away the car is gorgeous, lol. It's really only once your REALLY looking over it, you can see the abuse it's taken over the years.

It needs pads/rotors probably within the next 6 months.. I also think next "mod" is going to be a SOHN OMP.. I intend to refinish the wheels soon as well (lots of curb rash and peeling coat on it).. Lots to do.. but it's a backup car so I can take my time. Im looking forward to tinkering on it over the years.

Needs a new rear bumper too, has a problem area from a fender bender at some point and a horribly done "bandaid fix" but that will get taken care of when I paint it or sooner if I can find a BB parts car I can pull a rear off of.

I'm selling a SOHN OMP with a greddy tank for premixing and 2 bottles of Idemitzu 2 stroke oil.
Shoot me a pm if you're interested.
