New Engine

New Engine
I have always wanted an RX8 but stayed away due to engine issues and repairs costs. But just found a 2004 for $4500 at 84k miles with a brand new engine. Does the new engine solve the problems, or is it another short lived engine with the same issues present?

What do they mean by a brand new engine? A Mazda reman? A cheap rebuild? A more expensive rebuild? Find out what it means exactly.
When properly cared, these cars aren't as scary as the memes make it. Sure it's not a Toyota Corolla, but it also won't blow up on you every 60k miles if you maintain the car properly. That is assuming the "new engine" is put together with more new parts and the rebuild is done properly.

JinX is right, when people say a new engine it can mean many things. If you are considering dropping some considerable cash on the car, a compression test is usually a pretty good indicator (along with checking some other things) of overall engine health.
