New to the Group New to all things Rotary

Hi Hello,
new to the group and all things Rotary.
Hoping to not brake anything too soon. Will try not to bug anyone. Been lurking on the forum for about a year I think. Finally got my baby so I thought I'd introduce him. He's gone from expert hands to trembling newbie ones so pray for Jasper.
Yall can call me Debie.

Looks like a nice car! Do you know any history on the car?

Top to bottom.
Its been a dealer car for most of its life. Had all the recal replacements made.
New batery terminals
New alternator (not needed but changed before finding out it was the terminal)
New clutch pedal.
new battery
new slave cylinder.
New brakes
that's pretty much all the replacements other than regular maintenance stuff.
Small tune to kick off fans a little faster and raised the idle.
I have dealer receipts for maintenance and tge receipts for all the parts.
I have a maintenance log from the guy I bought it from. Seafoamed I think 3 times via gas tank.

I have always been a little worried about buying a Rotary. Especially since I'm new to them. Scared I would get myself into someone's else's pre-existing problem and not be able to 1. Realize it 2. Get myself out of it.

But I am very comfortable with the health of his one and figure if something happens it will be 99.99% all my fault.

Welcome aboard! Did you get a compression test with those service records?

There was one done early this year.
How often do you get one? I have noticed nothing about the car to urge me to get one done.

It's more of a recommendation for new owners to get one done, or get results from a recent one from the previous owner. It's not a fine/not fine thing, you want the actual numbers so you can see if the engine is strong, borderline or failing. If it drives fine, that's fine, but there is one thing you need to know about these cars: by the time it no longer drives fine, the problem has gone far.

I understand what you are saying. And the previous owner who I've known for quiet a while and who I consider a professional tuner has been practicing proper maintenance. Which is pretty much all you can do until you can't and you need a rebuilt or swap.

At at that point I am hoping I am more well read in my options and start from zero on a build.

Lol i I was actually never even in the market for a healthy running rx8. Figured I'd buy a nice shell. Clean tittle, nice body, decent interior. And then play with it. Im in no rush to break it, but when it does I won't be mad.
