thanks I found some parts on e-bay not to sure about it. my rear rotor lost a apex seal so its damaged, same with the rear and center housing. my center has n3h3 on it. so any 13b in 04-08 will do?

the renisis is a 13b msp. make sure its for a renny and not an rx7 13b. beware buying used engine parts on ebay. housings rotors and plates can be damaged easily and a lot of people wouldnt know it by looking at them

the problem with used parts is wear that need to be measured and carefully inspected. flaking on rotor housings, cracks around plug holes, water jackets, gouges in irons etc. its probably cheaper to buy a mazda reman but i think they are back ordered atm

There are plenty of people here on the forum that sell engine parts that will provide measurement specs. As stated above, this is crucial to doing the job correctly. I would do a lot of research on the parts you are looking at buying and know what the tolerances are and ask the seller for the specs. If the seller is unable to provide the specs then I would pass.

Not so much fun if you don't do it right the first time.
If you have time & money to burn, go for it.
Personally, I hate wasting time more than money.
If you want fun, put a dependable reman in your current 8, buy a cheap shell and put your DIY rebuild in it, or, if you don't want to eat the core charge, buy one with a blown engine & rebuild that one and sell it.
They're dirt cheap right now.

Water Foul
Be aware that most first-time rotary rebuilders fail on their first and often second attempts. That makes a Mazda reman a very attractive option, considering what parts and tools cost.

I think that's a good decision.
One of our members, NotAPreppie has a thread with all the new reman info in it, he recently installed one.
You might want to look for his thread.
Idk exactly where it's at, but I think there's a link in the rebuilder's thread.

Your profile says AZ?
Maybe send BHR an email or call, he's in AZ.
Charles Hill is well respected around here.
He hasn't been as active in the forum as he used to be, so I'm not sure what his status is ATM.

Robert...as a fellow newbie here in AZ, I found it best to look at the local enthusiast group on Facebook.....I found one really cool, helpful dude there with tons of experience on these cars.

hello hello, yes I knew they were but they seem really knowledgeable. did not find any in phoenix guess I didn't look hard enough ill check out bhr. and yes ill also look on Facebook and see what I find. thanks to both of ya. I looked on the for sale page most of the post looked really old. and I'm kind of scared to buy used so far the remand sounds best. I was hoping to get the exhaust port opened up a bit wonder lf Mazda will do that or do I need someone like bhr to do it.

I'm pretty sure Mazda won't do it.
You would likely have to take it to an independent shop to do it.
