New to the forum and well rx8(rotary) platforms all together😅,here is my "new" 04 Rx8
Just drove her from where i purchased and shes already spitting gas everywhere😒lol hadnt even gotten home😭all good staying optimistic and hoping its just a bad pump seal or something simple.
i did check under rear driver side seat and it seems to be the source but ill do a thorough inspection tomorrow in the daylight 😅

You may still have a defective fuel pump retainer ring, it was a Mazda recall.
There should be a recall sticker on the car, if it was done.

^^ You can also run the VIN to see if any recalls are still outstanding.

Thanks for the info,so i ran my vin but says i have 0 recalls.
it seems when i went to pump gas yesterday i overfilled and the gas came out from the top of the tank/pump assembly.
my fuel meter was at 1/4 so thats why i stopped to pump, what should be my next step?replace the ring or assembly possibly?
thanks for the help

If that recall was addressed, the dealer monkey might've cross-threaded the new ring.
They're a PITA.

If you see a leak around that ring, contact your nearest dealer to get it fixed RIGHT.
And they shouldn't be able to charge you if that's the case.
