Hey bros,

I was a long time driver of an RX8 and after I bought a house and got a truck, my little brother inherited my car for roughly a year. Unfortunately, the car stopped working due to some compression issues and now it's sitting in my driveway and I've started trouble shooting it. I started documenting the progress and the troubleshooting steps, so check it out on Youtube ( ). I tried that ATF method to see if it worked.

Did you check to see if the low comp rotor had any/ good spark?

are you sure it is a compression issue? bad coils leave gas, gas washes oil, washed oil makes it a pain to start, which floods, which washes more oil off. A coil you did not change yourself is a suspect coil.

Unfortunately, the starter went and didn't check. I will check it though once I get a new starter.

The ones on the car now are new coils, sparkplugs and spark plug wires. Unfortunately, as you saw by the pressure gauge, the front rotor was showing no compression at all.

Where are you? There may be a member near by with a compression tester to verify that part.
