Hello everybody,

my name is Christian (25 years old) and i got my new RX-8 yesterday with a Hymee Enhanced supercharger. It's my second RX-8. Love the engine, love the color (yellow) and love the supercharger!

But my first failure was yesterday. On the driving at 160km/h there was big bang in front of the car - near to the engine. After that bang there was something like white smoke. When I opened the bonnet i can't see anything - nothing loose, no oil lost. Everything was clean and all tubes are well. Nothing broken on the engine.

When I start driving i felt, that the clutch was slipping. I believe that the release bearing is broken now. But after that the engine wouldnt start anymore. The battery is very old and not strong enough.

What do you think is happened yesterday? At the weekend i will take a look at the engine and eyerything else.

Somebody here with experiences with a supercharged RX-8?

greetz and thanks

it's a selfmade building by an austrian owner. It's actually running with the basemap - the engine turn off sometimes and is running very laggy in neutral (idle).

I hope that nothing worse is happened to the engine or the supercharger..

temperature was quiet normal - about 100°C. i need to look for the trouble codes later. what do you exactly mean with "does it still turn over"?

when i try to turn on the engine it sounds like a normal spinning (rotating) engine - it's like he tries to start but can not.. maybe i should make a video for you to listen at..?!

but i need to wait until it's saturday. then i can use the garage to work on it

After looking for the ignition coils and the plugs, the engine is still working. it wont start normally but I tried to pull it with another car (hope you understand what I mean ) - it works!

Have a look at the video to see that the engine is sounding like an old tractor. The ignition plugs need to replace and the coils too!

The ignition plugs you can see on this link to our german community:

What do you think about it?
