Hey everyone I fell in love with rotary engines Ever since I started racing formula Mazda open wheel cars years ago. My formula car had the 13b rotary engine. Now I am on my second 8. I have a few others. These cars must vary alot in hp from car to car. My first one seemed to have 50 hp more than any other I have drove .including the one I have now and it has a fresh motor. First one would spin wheels shifting to 2nd and would chirp into 3rd. And none of the others have came close to that power.im wondering if I just had one other those fluke engines that put out alot more from the factory.or if the tune can be changed on the one I have now with access port to obtain the same power as the first one I had. Both cars were pretty much completely stock.

The race car and the rx8s habe the renesis. Of course the race car was faster it was 1000lbs with 6 speed sequential. But my first 8 stock was much more powerful than the stock one I have now. I have also drove two other 8s and none seem to have the power of my first 8 . I was wondering if these cars vary in hp alot from car to car.

I don't believe Renesis engines - fully stock, properly maintained and in good condition - vary in HP significantly, engine to engine, any more than reciprocating engines do. I suspect what you've encountered are Renesis engines in varying degrees of mechanical health.
