Hey everybody! My name is Matt, I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 as a daily driver with light mods that I was planning to build for road racing, I'm not the typical noob, I've 9 years experience building tuner cars, and I've had RWD turbo (MK3 supra turbo), FWD turbo (SRT-4 Neon), and AWD turbo (EvoIX). my race project is a 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX MR SE with plenty of seat time at the drag strip with a PB of 11.85 @ 117mph spinning 1st and 2nd on E85 that was making 403whp 414wtq on a 100% stock motor and turbo which got on the nations top 20 fastest stock turbo Evo list 3 years consecutive, and it was making closer to 500whp on the FPblack turbo which was anticipating a sub 10.90 pass till rod failure pushed back my plans. I'm preparing to set that up for a 9 second pass but I still love hitting turns which is why I decided to build up the RX8. With that said I'm not trying to make power with this RX8, so you won't find me asking questions like "how much HP will this give me?" Because I could care less about those numbers, I'm about lap times and trap speeds, I want to build a nasty turning car to hone my skills on the road course that I can occasionally street drive.

It's a 2005 silver RX8 GT, cloth interior, no gps or sunroof, 6spd m/t with 82k on the clock, 22k on the motor, 24k on the tranny, pretty much the perfect platform to start a track car. So far it has an ACT clutch, 2.5" cat back, test pipe, K&N typhoon intake, fresh coils, wires, NGK plugs, and most everything OE bolted to the motor was recently replaced/rebuilt/maintained by T&R racing in Queens, NY.

I'm planning to hit up a track day before the seasons end to feel out the stock suspension and once I've got a few laps under my belt I'm planning to turn to Whiteline and GT-Spec for some improvements to the suspension component. After that I'll address brakes, wheels, tires, and safety, than I'll be able to start attending more events with a license. I look forward to getting some great info from this forum and I look forward to becoming a part of the rotary community. Thank you for having me!
-Matt

Here's a vid of an 11.88 at Evo vs STi day against a fully built RS, of course I took the W lol
12.0 at Evo vs STi day against a bugeye WRX... As you can see I like giving subies the head start on the strip lol
I also have a vid of my car on Nyce1's with 22k views, but I don't know how the forum feels about those types of competition vids so I'll leave that out lol

In the pics that 370Z is my fathers. Def hard to say which car performs better between the RX and the Z lol, def on the same level.
