Traded our old running truck for a 2005 RX8. It is definitely a project car and needs lots of love, but we are wokring on brining it back to life. So far swapped out the cloth interior for the full black/brown (shinka?) That I picked up for a steal of a deal, just got some TSW wheels with pretty decent tires for cheap too, as well as a Bennett Expansion tank. Radiator exploded, replacing with a junkyard one this week just to get something in there for now, oil pan also leaks and the cat's bold was broken off and the 02 was disconnected. So i think the cat went bad, over heated the radiator then the oil pan gasket went. So I am pretty sure the engine is shot, and we will get it rebuilt in the next 12 months with a Kurt out of Oregan.
Last know service was 84k miles in 2013, currently sitting at 94k miles. It was found by thr last owner in a storage unit, water in the trunk some interior damage.
Also we are fully aware power isnt a thing with the Rens., so we are going for the rpms and the curves.
Also have the full cloth interior, wheels with bad tires, some shot tail lights and some misc parts that I am trying to sell.
Also cant post pics until 10 posts made?
Open to any recommendations yall have since the Rotarys are fun, just completely different.

Welcome!
Have you read the RX8Help website or the new owner thread?
Shinka interior is parchment colour and has both leather and cloth.
As for power... Revving higher on a stock engine doesn't do much. If you want a stock reman then you can get one from a Mazda dealer for like $3k. Personally, I'd focus on handling mods like suspension and tires.

If you don't mind the ergonomical trade offs (poor(er) fuel economy, rough idle) a bridgeport can be great since your possibly rebuilding or even getting a new engine. A streetport sounds more like what you might be looking for though. Plus a bridgeport requires special seals.

Thinking Streetport just for longevity of the engine. This car is to keep since the value isnt there for a flip and the money put into it wont make sense. We are going for the most NA power, with the best Atkins can offer build durability wise.
