What the f*** does a guy gotta do to find an R3 that isn’t red right now. I was trying to buy a black one in Virginia and it sold to the guy right before me in line. Almost cried. If anyone has one for sale for a reasonable price hit me up. Can’t post in the buy sell thread yet lol. Looking for black or if I get desperate blue, clean, good compression, mostly stock, and within 500 miles of Dayton Ohio. I would also love a white one but as far as I know those would need to be imported from the great white north (insert Oh Canada here).

There is a very nice white one, imported from Canada fro 15k in the for-sale sub-forum. Blacks were pretty uncommon compared to red and blue, but they do pop up here once and awhile.

Yeah I commented on that thread. I’ll buy it if it’s still for sale. As long as he’s willing to work with me a little on price. I’m assuming that one is 15k Canadian.

I understand wanting a specific 8. I too own a “special” one. I was patient waiting for either a Shinka in cherry black or a 40th AE. If you just want a lightweight Rx8 and don’t mind spiffing it up a base model sport is a great option also.

Good luck and Godspeed

My only requirements are color and I’d like to have an R3 if possible. The car will be daily driven so I’d like the comforts of the GT package if I can’t have an R3. My biggest issue is finding one that isn’t silver or red. Those are a dime a dozen. I’m a simple man, I need 3 pedals and neutral color lol. My ideal would be a black R3. I’ll settle for a black, white, or the dark grey Gt as long as the mileage is ok and compression comes through. Basically it’s rocket bunny a GT or stock body R3 with some wheels suspension and reliability mods. I feel like I’m not asking too much lol.

There is a pretty good one for sale in Chicago rn in red. 76k I think. Looks very clean for the mileage.

Word, I’ve got 8 different used car search apps right now so if I see any I’ll hit you up! There’s one that’s been listen for quite some time with low miles but dudes asking 20k. I just don’t see anyone paying that kind of price unless these cars start to really appreciate in the next few years.

I reached out about that one but can't justify it. One of the reasons the r3 appeals to me.is I can get a nice one relatively cheap. If I am going to spend 20k I would just get something else.

That’s my point exactly. The market dictates the price. You can get one from a dealer with a warranty for 2/3 that price just as clean. If I had 20k to spend I would probably still buy an Rx8 😅 is just spend copious amounts of money building the car. I think the R3 is a great deal because it doesn’t need much to make it look and drive to my taste. Most of the money spent after the initial purchase will be on building a second engine so when the original come out for a rebuild I’m not stuck without my baby lol.

Not sure how well this will fit the bill, and it's probably a bit far, but if you're going to be specific to black...

that is a bit far but right up my alley. I’m one of those weirdos that doesn’t have Facebook currently. So I haven’t looked On marketplace 😅. Gonna try to convince the wife to take a trip to SC lol. Anyone got a read on that engine light issue? I know generally engine lights aren’t major but I’m a worry wort at times. Thanks for checking that out for me! I’m so stoked to finally get one of my dream cars. I’ve felt pretty defeated after looking for roughly 8 months now I think on the main venues and having some slip from my grasp. There was a black on in Virginia that almost broke me. Low mileage Agency power cat back and full service records $9500

Good luck with the wife! I can say, Charleston is a great city for a vacation. My wife actually lived there for awhile, but we're in MI now. She'd go back in a second if it made sense for us. So, make a vacation of it! Let me know if you want any suggestions for things to do (I'll ask my wife.)

this might sound weird but can anyone get me some contact info from these people. I don’t have a Facebook and they didn’t post on Craigslist or any of the major automotive websites.

Thanks so much. I deleted my Facebook a long time ago because I got addicted to social media and the lust for likes consumed me and I’m not ready to dive back in yet. Not until I get my Rx8. Then I’ll dive into the Instagram rabbit hole probably.

Oh man. Yeah, these things are addicting for sure. If you do make an Instagram, send me your user name so I can toss likes all over whatever RX8 you have. Haha.

Absolutely! I’ll probably make a post on here letting everyone know what I end up buying and I’ll include my Insta on that. You’ll also get some bike spam too lol.
