New owner 05 Rx8
Hey guys, read a lot on here. Got a couple more questions. I recently got an 05 rx8. The amount of miles on it are astounding and no rebuild (that I can find record of)
but still runs strong. 186xxx on the dash, how concerned should I be? Got the car fax and the keys have changed hands more times than a hooker at a bachelor party.. no clear maintenance record, only things I can tell that are wrong with it is the clutch and she grinds going into second? Clogged cat as well but straight pipe to the rescue. I'm thinking synchros are bad. After looking online it seems cheaper to get a low mile transmission than to pay for parts and labor?? If anyone's got a website I can get OEM parts for the low id greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the website, Loki.
Haven't had a compression test yet. After spending all weekend reading through these forums I was gonna replace coils, plugs, water pump, thermostat, coolant lines, etc. Just so I had a time reference for when to do them again. Too scared to drive her around till I do get them fixed. first time rotary owner and my bank account ain't set up for a new engine 😭😂
As for the the grinding in second gear, would that be the synchro? Saw on here that changing the tranny fluid might help.. but if it was old tranny fluid wouldn't it grind in all gears?
