New Owner
New owner from North MS. 04(made in 03) black on black Auto GT. No manual car's anywhere near my price range, and scored great deal on this one. So far, I have had to order a mid pipe for it. Previous owner took off and cut off the cat due to Dealer Diag told them cat and rear O2 was bad. So I got car with no mid pipe. Turns out the damn thing was just out of fuel. 20$ of 93 oct and the car was back up and running(very loudly at that) I'm still waiting on the mid pipe. But for 1800$ I hauled it home. Plugs look great, although I will change. I have done a good bit of reading, and plan on just a few mods such as SOHN adapter and coil pack(s) swap. Definitely want to install a Sat-Nav dash center section(just that part) for a 7" tablet running Torque as well as Pandora. Not new to cars, or "OddBall" car's. little history for me, First car 83 and 76 Datsun 280's, 85 and 87 Fiero GT's, 92 Lexus SC400, 94 Miata(modded), 02 Sentra SE-R SpecV, and now my 04 RX8 Auto GT. Srry for sun glare on pics. once I get it cleaned up i'll take better pics.

Welcome.
Nice find. Read the New Owner stickies for helpful info, and get a rotary specific compression test before you spend too much money on it.
They will run good with failing engines.

Compression test will come when I order a proper tester. If it shows bad. rebuild will be my goal. until exhaust come's in(factory used midpipe) I won't be doing to much as it is excessively loud with open header

You can probably pay for it by testing other rotaries.

Did a comp check with a reg tester. Both ways. Un even pulses on front with about 30psi. Combined 60. Rear is even pulses @60 with combined @90. So i am going to use the old atf trick followed by seafoam. If that dont get it. Probly rebuild.

Well I've been going threw some of the engine sections. ESS was horribly dirty, So Cleaned it, and the MAF. Added some pre-mix to the tank, since I'm trying to regain a little comp before I tear it down a little extra lube atop the OMP. I can now get it to idle after a drive, but only if I hold it @ 1k for about 30 seconds then let off, Idles around 750. Just put put's under 2K so getting out of drive way is a hassle without stalling. but once it's above 3K is a sweet ride. Plenty of power and super smooth. some chatter under hard throttle, but if I ease into it it's smooth. had no problem @ 110mph. Will try to crack it open and replace some seals very soon.

Did you do the 20 brake pedal stomp?
Should be done after cleaning the ESS if you didn't already.

Yes forgot to mention that, as well as the Ignition/trip reset button clear. also Coils are pushing 19KV each and are pretty even with each other. Now I do plan on replacing Coils, Wires and plugs very soon, probably with seal job.
