New owner introduction
Hello all,
Just purchased this 2009 on 4.20. I have always had cars that required attention but this is my first rotary. I cannot believe how responsive these cars are. Brought it home in absolutely terrible weather and it was not fazed in the slightest! My last car was a 5th gen Camaro that died when a giant tree fell on it. Thought you might find it interesting that the RX8 has about 2" more in legroom and head room than the Camaro and is far more nimble being that the length/width of the cars aren't that different. My eyes say it ain't so but specs do. Any other Oregonians out there?

Congratulations! Welcome to the club! Be sure to go through the threads for this vehicle as it is very different than a camaro. You will enjoy the vehicle nevertheless.
Looks to be a 2nd generation of the RX8, so if there is anything you need to replace/find for your vehicle make sure it is the right generation.
How many miles? Looks real sharp in black(?) I can't tell what color but sharp regardless. And clean too...
Did you also happen to compression test it as well?

Compression check coming up just before the fuel recall work - but I have recourse if does not check out. I have bodymen and mechanics familiar with rotary engines in the family and I am not above bribes, manipulation, or borrowing their cars - and they love me. I am fortunate, though they might say spoiled. Potato, potahto.
I only drive a couple thousand miles a year so not too concerned. Currently drying out left rear taillight assembly because of the water. Most of the quirks I hear/read/see are not that big of a deal. Ive always had 'temperamental' cars...but those are the ones I get emotionally attached to!
Anyway, glad to be here, forums are a huge resource for cars like this.

Welcome.
You may be able to get a new remote from the stealership but it won't be cheap.
Idk about S2s but I replaced the gasket on one of my tail lights on my '04 years ago and it's still dry.
A new ignition system could be a good thing.
Post a pic of it.
