New Owner in NC '09 Sport w/ 62k
Hello RX-8 Club! I just bought my first rotary yesterday, and WOW! I am impressed!
First, what y'all will care about, the car. I bought a very clean 1-owner 2009 RX-8 in Sport trim with 62k on the clock. The previous owner (PO) appears to have done an excellent job maintaining the car, and left it nearly stock. The only modifications he did was to add Koni yellow shocks and lowering springs.
Second, what y'all care less about, me. I am a long time Miata owner and autocrosser. I sold my ES prepped '96 Miata earlier this year, and was looking for a good deal on my next car when I found my RX-8. What can I say, Mazda makes great sports cars. I am located near Raleigh/Durham, NC, and I am a Lifetime member of the Tarheel Sportscar Club (THSCC). I no longer feel the need to focus on competing at the highest level possible in auto-x, and intend to ease into middle age with grace and dignity and a high-revving mostly stock delight of a car. I plan to use the RX-8 primarily as a second (weekend) car, as well as an occasional auto-x and HPDE. I will mostly be lurking for DIY and technical information, as well as looking at the Swap n Sell section of the forum.
All the best,
Chubs
