New owner and thank you to this community
Just bought my first RX8, 2005 Shinka MT w/ 134K miles. I was able to verify the VIN using the PDF on this site to confirm it is a true Shinka, instantly fell in love with the color. The other stickies and posts also allowed me to understand things like the hot start issue, stalling, condensation in the tail lights, etc. I feel good about my purchase and it was due to the info on this forum so thank you for that. The car needs a lot of work to get it back to glory but this is a project car for me. Thanks again and I hope I can contribute a bit to pay back the great folks on this site.

My philosophy behind buying the car is that I like unique cars even if they don't run all that great, which is why I also own an 81 Delorean LOL. That's kinda what I saw with this car. It's a 2005 Shinka, the color is unique, there weren't many made, and it still runs so that's a plus hehe. Because of this I didn't have a compression test done because it drove well, didn't have any stall issues once a new battery was put in, and it feels strong through the gears. Even if the engine goes, I am fine with that. For the price I paid $2900 I wouldn't mind learning to rebuild the engine myself. So far I've rebuilt the top end of the 81 Delorean Volvo motor (mechanical fuel injection is very interesting) and my LS2 402 stroker including the tune, just on research alone. It's amazing the amount of info that is out there and how empowering it is to have the Internet. You can seriously learn to do anything as long as you spend the time.
