I intend to pull the plugs and clean them when I do the coils. Should be here within a week. The decarb will likely help clean them as well. I've been harassed enough at work about this car that I've quickly developed a thick skin over it At least I am in a better position than most with the ability to simply swap the engine myself. I will be keeping an eye out for a decent low km renesis and have been checking prices on mazmart etc. Again shipping will be a killer there.
Thanks for the help gwilliams But don't worry I haven't been slandering the rotary yet. I knew what I was getting into when I purchased the car, I simply hoped I had a little more time before having to worry about an engine replacement. If I'm lucky all it needs is a couple of decarbs to get me another year or so out of this engine.

I couldn't with a clear conscience sell the car without declaring everything I know. Also buy the time you factor in the taxes paid that I will lose I may as well spend an extra grand or so for a fresh engine.

So I did the mazdazoom cleaner on Saturday. It didn't smoke much but boy did it stink! Off idle feels better and smoother and the car feels less likely to stall when just starting off. I found it a bit difficult to modulate clutch and gas before.
I'm looking forward to getting my new coils in which should show up near the end of next week and will do another decarb in another tank or so.
I also gave the car a bath today. The body is in pretty good shape other than a couple of dings in the hood and a couple of scratches here and there. Oh and the rust under the spoiler. I'll be fixing that next week by removing the spoiler, sanding out the rust, por15'ing and touching up with a paint pen as you can't see much of it anyway. The spoiler seems loose as if the po used to use it to open the trunk...
