Check the battery temperature.
Removing OEM box will reduce life span as the OEM have air circulation to cool down the battery.
Since I use upgraded battery which is a tad bigger, unable to fit back the box and not willing to relocate battery end up to use isolation all around it.
Temperature had dropped dramatically ( despite of having vented hood)

Regarding the air box modification check you MAF reading, I did someworks too, which made unstable readings, especially at idle. RX8 maf has high resolution and messing with OEM intake needs comprehensive investigation (R&D), irony the better maf senseor = more issues as it has more accurate/ sensitivity... long story short I use honeycomb straightener.

Hi again,
Did a battery swap with no issues.
As for the comment above, Battery temp is nothing to worry about in this case, after a hrs of driving the battery temp is the same as engine bay temp. No issue.
The air filter mod is to help get air in through the ram, as it was not installed before.
Also went to Rotary Revival, fun day out driving on track at wot speed, finding out i need new front seats for head room.
Other than braking the sun roof handle with my helmet, nothing else failed.

he’s probably thinking of the Oddysey racing type battery, they have a 175°F limit
.

Agree, he is confused, not just that the OEM charge system never goes above 14v, hence the AGM is always under charge and never reaches the recommended \ potential capacity.

"
Recommended Charging Information by manufacture

Alternator:
13.65 to 15.0 volts
Battery Charger: 13.8 to 15.0 volts; 10 amps maximum; 6-12 hours approximate

Float Charge: 13.2 to 13.8 volts; 1 amp maximum (indefinite time at lower voltages)

Rapid Recharge (Constant voltage charger): Maximum voltage 15.6 volts. No current limit as long as battery temperature remains below 125°F (51.7°C). Charge until current drops below 1 amp.

Cyclic or Series String Applications::14.7 volts. No current limit as long as battery temperature remains below 125°F (51.7°C). When current falls below 1 amp, finish with 2 amp constant current for 1 hour

.All limits must be strictly adhered to. "

U.S. Battery Operating Temperature Guidelines For charging, we recommend staying within 00F to1200F (-18 to 490C) to avoid charging frozen batteries at low temperature or going into thermal runaway at high temperature
. For discharging, we recommend -200F to 1200F (-29 to 490C).

The battery box will melt at 220 C lolllll
what I quoted is the manufacturer's guideline.
I do not want to open a can of worms but remember, the rx8 alternator is a pulse module controlled by ECU and it is calibrated to a conventional lead-acid battery which means
the battery is not on spec unless you change the alternator/ charging system.
