I am super happy to be posting this. I got my first rotary in 2003 one year before I graduated high school, it was a 93 Montego blue touring and it was amazing. The RX-8 was becoming a thing and I was about to graduate high school. I remember going into the dealerships to sit in them, hoarding product brochures and all the likes because I thought the car was so cool. And I would be driving up in an FD. I have always thought the design, and overall concept of the car was executed amazingly. I also have 3 kids and stuffing them all in the RX-8 is a lot more comfortable than the RX-7... =)
Shes a 2010 Grand Touring with 41,2** miles. Serviced every 3K miles as per the carfax. I plan to continue that pattern and do some minor mods to the car. I wanted silver, white or black, never thought I would own a red car. I might have to paint it soul red crystal. I bought the car because my daily MAZDASPEED6 blew up! Get that, my non-rotary daily blowing up on me and now I have a daily rotary, a nightly rotary, and a giant boat anchor with a dead engine. I love that SPEED6 too though so it will be back up and running before next winter.
Since I am new here are my NEWB questions (ice breakers) and I promise I will search after this....
The VIN starts with JM1FE. Does anyone call these an "FE"? I mean it is the successor to the RX-7 right? =P
I have had the car for less than a month and hit the pothole from hell giving me two bent rims. Will 20x9.5 45mm sit fine without rubbing or needing to roll fenders or anything? I do not mind a low profile tire.
Is anyone one here running an NA E-85 set up on the renesis?
Does the RX-8 have an easier time squeezing a 20B under the hood than a FD?
Thanks in advance and I am happy to be a part of the SE3P fam!
