New Rx8 driver, car dies at stoplights(sometimes)

I am a new Rx8 driver, my car is a 2005 Rx8 Shinka edition. For the most part the car has worked fine, and I have read a lot about upkeep. But every do often when I stop at a stoplight for a little while the engine dies and I have to start it back up again. I have read forums that talk about anything from air intake to coils to CAT to new engines. But these problems supposedly affect the car every time it stops, and my car only does it every so often. While I follow every rule that I have read about driving an Rx8, my question would be is there anything I could be doing to cause this to happen only every so often? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Get your OBD scanned for codes.
My guess would be vacuum leak or weak fuel pump.

Welcome, a biggie is coils. You can get them pretty cheap now from Autozone. Plugs and wires may be suspect, but IMHO, coils go first.

Unless there are codes. Then get autozone to look for codes. If no codes, get 4 coils while you are there.

What MAF sensor is in the car? Mine would do that with an Autozone MAF sensor, multiples of them, I bought a Denso one who makes the stock MAF and the car runs just fine and idles great now. MAF sensor was my problem.
