New Rx8 Owner

Im happy to say that Im the proud new owner of an 07 Stormy Mica Blue Rx8 :D

I do have a question though. Ive been doing quite a bit of research one here (the info here is amazing!) but some of the info is either from a bit ago, or Ive seen mildly conflicting data about running temps and what is best to keep them down.

Ive only had the car for just over a week, but Ive noticed that I hover right around ~200f. On the highway it might be slightly lower ie 190/high 180s, and city it can creep just a touch higher than that, low to mid 210f. Im curious what the best route to go is to start. Ive been looking into Versatuner for the increased OMP rates and to lower the fan temp ranges, the ReMedy Thermostat and potentially the water pump. Ive already talked to BHR about getting on the list for a catless midpipe and I know the VT software will help me with the cel. Im also looking at BHR Coils and wires.

I guess my question is, whats everyone opinion on where its best to start. The coolant reservoir appeared to be full when I was out poking around under the hood yesterday incase anyone was curious.

I will more than likely do most, if not all of the mods I listed, just unsure if anyone of them is better to begin with than the other.

Im excited to be here and learn from you guys!

So I finally decided that I would start with getting the Versatuner software and installed the stock map. Changed the fan temps to 185-195 for primary and secondary speeds. Seems to have lowered my temps nicely on my daily commute.

Next I’m going to grab a set of bhr coils, wires, and a new set of ngk plugs to make sure the ignition system is running its healthiest.

Also got my compression tester in, time to find out the actual motor health. 😅

Also, I was driving around with my windows down and I noticed as I was coming to a stop, and then accelerating from that stop there was a faint "jingling". It didnt happen every time I came to a stop, or proceeded.

It didnt seem to make any difference with clutch play (in/out), it also didnt seem to make a difference when I moved the shifter into any of the gears. No loss of power or anything, no mil on the dash, and no codes of any kind from my OBDLink MX+. Also not "MIAC", the sound is hard to pinpoint exactly but it sounds like its from under the car. Just trying to cover my bases I suppose.

One other thing, I noticed while watching the dashboard for my obdlink that o2sensor 1 always reads 0.0, while the o2 sensor 2 has readings that actually fluctuate. Anyone have experience with that? Id imagine the rx has 2 sensors haha. The whole no mil codes thing makes me scratch my head lol

Hi there! Kudos for your new ride.
About the sound you are hearing, from what you write, it could be some of the myriad sounds this car makes, something normal I mean. A sound clip could help?
On the o2, it has 2, a front o2 and a rear with the front being the most important/expensive. The obd2 tool shows zero values on the o2, I don't recall seeing o2 readings on sgii. I had cat temps, afr, intake temp.

The O2 is showing 0 what? volts? AFR? It's a wideband impedance sensor not voltage like the rear, so if you're looking for voltage, there will not be a useful signal.
