Hello, Im new to this forum and to owning a rx8, iI am Canadian so finding one that hasn’t seen snow was a must, always wanted a rx7 or 8 and decided that since I have A small family id go with the rx8 just because it has a room for 4. I found a rx8 Shinka with 60 kilos ( that’s about 35000 miles) and then i found a R3 with 109k (65 miles) . It was a really hard decision as the shinka has was cleaner and the R3 was in my opinion the better car. The R3 has a few tasteful mods ill cut paste since its extensive
for sale my exceptionally clean and well maintained 2009 Mazda RX8 R3. The car is in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. All of the trouble spots on these cars have been taken care of and a lot of the modifications have been done to increase longevity and reliability first and foresmost. The car has no rust, the transmission shifts smoothly in all gears and the car hot starts perfectly every time - no issues.
Below is a list of Maintenance and Modifications all done within the last 20k kms:
- Tein S-tech springs on OEM Bilstein shocks - *18x9 +38 Genuine Work XD9 in Bronze with 245/40/18 Summer tires (*optional) - OEM Forged 19" BBS R3 wheels with 225/40/19 tires - EBC Slotted Rotors and Bendix Pads - Progress Tech Front Sway Bar with Whiteline adjustable endlinks - Progress Tech Rear Sway Bar - Goodridge Front and Rear Stainless Steel Brake Lines - Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intake - Gutted OEM cat - Re-amemiya "Quick Shift" countersunk weighted shift **** - Racing Beat Oil Cooler Screens
(all done within the last 5k kms)
- Four Wheel Alingment - Front Brake pads are new, rears almost new - ATE Brake fluid flush - Redline Trans and Diff Fluid - NGK Wires, NGK Plugs and OEM ignition coils
The car has been Dyno Tuned by Marco Jorge at RX Tuning and Performance - the car made 184whp on a mustang dyno - has increased OMP volumes for better internal lubrication and lowered radiator fan turn-on temperature among a few other adjustments to increase reliability and longevity - the motor is VERY healthy)
The Shinka was the same price and super mint condition with very low miles and never seen winter so it was hard to decide but the black interior on the R3 and the tasteful mods is what pushed me to go with the R3. My son and I took a train to Toronto and picked up the r3, drove it home and wow what a great ride this car has, We have very pleased with it , the owner told me it has never flooded and he has hotstarted it , this thing just rips, holds the road like no other car i have driven, I am very happy with it,
The guy with the Shinka is moving so I believe he is motivated to sell, Could be a good car for someone.

Nice car man. Second red R3 I’ve seen recently. Great cars. If I didn’t live in SoCal, I would of waited for an R3. There is good sunroof weather here so I got a GT. I also almost bought a cherry red Shinka. I agree with Cayman, I’ll always own an rx8. Not underpowered at all.
You can still get speeding tickets in it...
