New Series 1 Owner!
Hello everyone!
I picked up my first RX-8 about a month ago! After wanting one since they debuted, I'm glad to have finally pulled the trigger. I've owned several Miatas over the years, a few Subaru WRX and STi, but mostly a Honda guy. I actually work in a Honda parts department. I love my Hondas, but I'm having a blast in the Mazda!
I purchased from the original owner. It's a 2004 Grand Touring with 75,000 miles. Around 2009, the engine was replaced with a Mazda reman unit. I had the compression checked before coming to look at the vehicle and it checked out in pretty good condition!
I've done a few things since purchase. The very first was to ditch the floormats for some OEM carpets. I also changed every fluid, started premixing, added a Sohn adapter. Recently, I added a Racing Beat dual resonator midpipe with an HKS cat-back. Later on this spring, I'll be putting a clutch and lightweight flywheel in, as well as some sticky tires.
I'm looking forward to summer night cruises and car shows with my kids!
