All potential new Rx8 owners should have a compression test before you buy it. don't just buy it because it looks cool. It could be dead and living on life support.
See actual compression test done on my Facebook page. This could save you a lot of headaches and $ down the road.
Have a great day everyone!

wish u guys were on here earlier, i bought one like a month ago that requires me to be connected to a laptop, really would have liked a stand-alone unit. dont have an extra $400 usd laying around when i already have one that does what it needs to now ):

Sorry dude,
I also needed one and knew what was out there. I didn't want a testing unit that required anything extra.
I found the RCT-V5, liked it so much I bought the company.
I've been playing with rotary engine cars for almost 30 years so I knew what competition was out there in handheld devices.
There is no other digital handheld rotary compression tester on the planet that has had the amount of R&D and extensive testing the RCT-V5 was put through.(on a 1000hp, 4 rotor twin turbo, methanol burning, 7 second Rx3).
Stuart Turnbull(owner of freakyRx3) and Chris H. of Classified Performance in Australia put 18 months of R&D into getting the retail product we offer for purchase.
How about that for accuracy!
Pre-sale beginning in less than 24 hours, limited # of the first batch of testers to be manufactured in the USA.
Don't miss out!
i assume you will have the purchase button available in US dollars, correct.
What kind of warranty and calibration certificate comes with the device purchased?
Do you have a Specs page on the unit (batteries required, accuracy, and the types of connections)?
There are $US PayPal buttons being set up now.
1 year warranty on parts and labor, unless it's user error and you damage the sensor. Only one warranty issue to date because user couldn't follow instructions on the front of tester.
Uses a single 9 volt battery.
I will make a thread covering specs and full warranty details.
The RCT-V5 was developed by Stuart Turnbull the owner of (freakyRx3) and tested on same car.
A 1000hp 4 rotor twin turbo methanol burning 7 second drag car, so it will work on any rotary engine. Couple dozen Australian drag teams he races with use and rely on these compression readings along with him.
