Newbie dived in at the deep end :)
Hi guys
First a bit of background: I bought my first RX8 in December as a spares or repair (after looking at a couple with hot start problems) - a Grey 2003 231 model with sunroof. Then ended up buying another one with slight hot start problems - another 2003, but red this time
. So I drove the red one for a couple of months with the hot start getting worse until one day it rattled like hell, lost power and then cut out when I came to standstill. I've pulled and stripped that engine and it has spun one rotor bearing and one stationary gear was well worn. Also one apex seal was not springing out. So need a new rotor and new e-shaft. Housings and irons look good ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My next job is to pull the grey engine and see how that looks (apparantly there was copper in oil, so I expect similar situation to my red car, but hoping I can get a good pair of rotors.
It looks like oil supply issues - is there any way I can check the oil supply components individually?

im going throught the same, pile of copper shavings in the oil pan.. spun the rear rotor bearing, some wear on front and rear bearings, housing looked good minus the rear housing which had isolated flake by omp nozzle inlet.
