You did reconnect the wiring the wires that go to the coils right?

The ECU controls the ignition directly. It's basically a coil on plug design.

You get no spark on any of the coils ever? You're measuring this with a timing light? Can you tell us a bit more about thr history of the car?

Sometimes you need to clean the Eccentric shaft sensor (ESS), but by itself that shouldn't prevent you from having some kind of spark.

Don't trust a toning light, mine wasn't picking anything up while cranking and wasted a lot of my time..

Are all your fuses OK?
There really is no other box involved.

Seems a little harsh

Did you buy the car not running?

There are numerous systems that will interact for the ignition to work correctly...

You will have to start from scratch and check everything to figure it out

I laughed when I read this .. awesome.

Maybe someone else can validate but if I recall correctly only the lead coils fire during cranking.

I know the OP said he tried all four but likely a waste of time and added complications to troubleshooting if your checking a coil that isn't going to fire until the car is started.

Dan, do you believe this to be correct still? I've never actually sat down to test it.
