No Throttle Response
Hello everyone! First of all, I apologize if this isn't the correct place to make this post or if this exact issue has been discussed. I looked and couldn't find the exact symptoms anyones posted. Anyways, I have a series I rx8 that I had picked up off a lot that had been sitting there neglected for over 5 years. Originally the car didn't even turn over. I've got it up and running with smooth idle but I have a problem with throttle response. No matter how hard i hit the throttle the car doesn't want to go hardly. It can get up to 60mph but it takes about 2 minutes to get there. I know it may be due to compression but what makes me feel it may be something else entirely is that even when I barely touch the pedal I get the exact same amount of torque and response when I floor it, and even when cutting corners kinda quick then hitting the gas you can feel the power. Maybe limp mode? There's no code indicating it's that and the only code left is upstream O2 sensor heater circuit low. Originally the SSV circuit was low and the pedal position sensor circuit was low. I've replaced coils, plugs, wires, all three solenoids, the pedal sensor, and pulled the cat just to do a visual check of the combs. Cat looks healthy and airflow is not blocked. I doubt it has any relation to the problem but also the air conditioner compressor is ceased. I just removed the belt running to the compressor and I'll replace it once I get the car running smoothly. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks for any help!

Check to see if the throttle plate opens when you step on the accelerator pedal. If it is in limp mode it won't open very far
If you reset the ECU and the throttle works before you try and start it... and then works for about 5-10 sec after starting and then stops reacting it is likely the MOP putting the ECU into limp mode
Check that out and let us know what happens
