Normal for RPM to increase when in gear? 6-speed manual
I'm still new to RX-8s and I cannot find any solid information about this. Ever since I bought my 04 6-speed manual RX-8 when I put it in first gear at a dead stop the RPM goes from 800 to 1200. The car will hold 1200 RPM until I take it out of gear. I figured this was normal until I came across this thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...e-read-189657/ I have no codes, both clutch switches are plugged in and work (I have to push in clutch to start the engine), car does it with AC on or off, cold or hot, pressing clutch and keeping the transmission in neutral does nothing. ONLY when I put it in gear will the RPM go up.
So in short:
Transmission in neutral+foot off clutch=800 RPM idle.
Transmission in neutral+foot pressing clutch down=800 RPM idle.
Transmission in 1st gear+foot pressing clutch down=1200 RPM idle.
Is this normal or is there a problem (or one the way)?

Well apparently I have the only 6-speed RX-8 in existence since nobody replied. Anyway for anyone else in the same situation as I was, I found the plunger wasn't fully extending causing the issue. I replaced it with GJ6A-66-49YA and now my RPMs don't move at all when in gear and at idle.
