Oil Leakage - Plausible?
Hi,
Looking at a car for sale, owner says leaking oil with the below reasoning:
"..was stored for a long time so the oil seals in the motor have dried up causing some oil leakage and burning but still driven daily.."
Make sense? Normally I'd consider any oil leakage to be a deal breaker.. should I walk away from this?

Sort of depends where it's leaking from. I don't think there are any external-facing rubber seals to dry up actually. And anyway, we're not in the 60s any more, that's not supposed to happen.

If it was as simple as a loose oil filter, incorrectly installed drain plug, or something along those lines it would be a good reason to knock the price down a lot. Other than that though...could spell major trouble.
