Is it ok to use wd-40 to loosen oil filter?

Cuz it seems worked smoothly? Will it result a later loosed new filter oil leak?

Should be fine. Put a dab of new oil around the gasket of the new filter. Hand tight. Should be good to go.

WD40 is not a good thing to use on a oil filter it will dry and rot the rubber seal if you feel the need take some fresh oil and wet the rubber seal. I must admit the filter can be tricky and is like all things engineers design not well thought through when it comes to servicing.

I forgot this to if you overspray or spray to much it could run down into your clutch and you don't want that on your clutch

Yes killed my factory clutch because oil was spilt when changing filter and no bell housing was not cracked or loose some how it got to the clutch. WD 40 is much thinner than engine oil there for easier to get in cracks IE. On the clutch.

That's a rather large leap of assumption niteshade... WD40 would disappear faster than 5w20, 0w40, or whatever 4-stroke oil might come out of a filter spill. There is another source for crankcase oil getting on the clutch, and it's not from a filter spill. If that is actually why it failed and you aren't making an incorrect diagnosis.

I thought it was a rear seal went but the back side of the engine was dry when I replaced the clutch. after the big spill the clutch slipped like a b@$&h and you could smell the oil burning. Clutch was crap from then on after replacement no more issues. Murphy's law. What can go wrong will and dose go wrong no matter how improbable.
