Thumbs down Ouch. What do I do..

I bought an 2009 RX8 R3 from Deerfoot South Suzuki Calgary. Within two weeks the 5th gear syncro was out. The car is now down for aprox 2-3 weeks I am left without a temporary vehicle. The car still has a Mazda power train warranty. So the work is being done for free. How ever this is a very inconvenient for me. When I purchased the vehicle the ad listed : Adjustable suspension, and remote engine start included. Well I wanted to lift it for winter, Mazda says $800 to get it back to factory there is no adjustable suspension, also there is no remote engine start on the fob, unless I am aware of they key pattern. When I brought the car into Mazda they made me change the transmission fluid as a part of there procedure before they could go into my transmission. Now the work is being done. My problem is , I don't have a vehicle for a month. And at $1000 a month to run the car. I'm not impressed. I've thought about talking to AMVEC cause this is getting ridiculous. I think I should get what I paid for. And a rental vehicle during the time my RX8 is down. What can I do here ? They pretty much sold me a vehicle that is not fit for the road. Not to mention my rear drive side wheel blew at 30,00km and I purchased the vehicle at 28,900km.

Transmission fluid swap : $129
Tow truck : $140
Monthly payment $600
Insurance $320

That's quite the bullet to bite for a vehicle your not driving for a month because the dealership sold you a car with a bad transmission.
Not to mention I now share 1 vehicle with my GF and she's getting up at 5 am to drive me to work.

Can't the Dealership give you a loaner while they work on the car? Isn't that standard for warranty work?

Not sure what to tell you. Sounds like you could have caught all of these issues if you had it inspected properly before you purchased it. If the car has a warranty that covers it than there isn't much else you can do. You should be able to get a rental under the factory powertrain warranty though.

The monthly cost is there whether or not you drive the car, that's something you signed up for (and at rather bad terms it looks like). If you have issue with those terms, you can try to get them changed/compensated from the dealer that you bought the car from, but you aren't likely to be successful. After all, what happens if the car is paid off one day and you have a breakdown? Someone is supposed to pay you for that?

You might be able to get some leverage on the original dealer for perhaps some money back regarding the remote start. The suspension IS adjustable though. Camber, caster, and toe

Not ride height and shock valving, but it IS still adjustable.

I asked Mazda for a loaner. I don't have extended power train warranty, that's the only time they give loaner cars. If a car is to be sold it is to be road worthy, They had there mechanics inspect the vehicle before sale. There for it should be ok to sell. I'm doubting they tested the 5th gear. Now... wouldn't you be upset if this happened to you. I came here for answers , not to be discriminated. When the car is fully paid for and there is NO WARRANTY left. Then yes I will eat all costs of repairs. I do realize this.

Pretty much, I want the working car that I paid for and expect a means of transport during the time the car I bought is down. Sounds fair to me ? You work for a dealership RIWWP? Cause it sounds like it

I'm not discriminating you, just pointing out the value of proper inspection. Yes, you are being shafted, but you also have very little room to work with trying to get compensation. Everyone learns this at some point. I dealt with many of the same issues, and the same feelings/emotions resulting from it. I didn't pay off my first car until over a year after I was last able to drive it, and only then by using my Mom's life insurance payout. So yes, I do know what you are feeling.

I'm guessing that if you looked up the safety / inspection requirements, and I'm guessing that your vehicle technically passes.

What I'd tell someone that DIDN'T have warranty coverage is something like: "Well, this is why you need a warranty, to cover problems that show up after purchase that shouldn't be there." ... but you HAVE a warranty, so It sounds like you basically want more benefit from your warranty coverage. Realistically, it isn't going to happen.

Correct and reasonable. I can take that.
Just as I did dry. (Did not enjoy that)
On the up side. I don't have to pay for it I guess
