WA P0455 Large EVAP Leak and Fuel Tank Pressure Pump Change

Has anyone changed out a fuel tank pressure pump (EVAP leak detection pump)? I searched my code P0455 and as many key words as I could find and couldn't find an instance of anyone changing this out. The workshop manual says I need to pull the rear diff. I REALLY don't want to have to pull the rear diff out in order to access it. It doesn't really look that bad. Just curious before I start digging in.

Background: Car sat in a garage for about 3 years before I purchased it, Got it running and was doing the rear diff and manual transmission fluid change and had a better look at where the pump is and what might need to be removed (if anything) before taking this out. I have been noticing after a fill-up that the tank goes down below "full" very quickly. Yes I know it isn't a fuel efficient car, but it seems to be venting off some fuel as it sits.

I had just brought the car home from the dealer performing the "fuel tank leak recall" (new fuel pump! ) when I smelled gas in the garage the next morning after it sitting there overnight. I took it straight back to the dealer telling them they must have not performed the recall correctly and to fix the leak. I had also just gotten the P0455 code a couple drive cycles after the recall work. They trouble shot the code and said it wasn't anything to do with the work they had done, but that the pump in question had failed "open." They said it would need to be replaced.

I've been driving the car here and there and the code hasn't come back. Still seems to be venting/leaking gas, but won't know until the morning as it's been parked outside with the exception of tonight. Mostly, this is just some information for others that found it wasn't the gas cap when getting this code. The tech said it was 100% this pump.

Thanks for any tips anyone can provide with getting this swapped. I have the new pump so I might as well swap it as long as it isn't a real bear.

Thanks!!!

Update: I attempted to remove it without taking the diff out. It can't be done unless you cut the hoses, which I'm not ready to do. If you could get to the clamps more easily, it's possible to reach in if you're creative and do most of the work. I could get the 2 10mm nuts off that holds it in place, the 2 electrical connections off, but couldn't remove the 2 hoses. I didn't smell gas in the garage, so I think the pump is working again. I'll leave this for another day.
