P0704 error code

P0704 error code
I ran my code reader and it picked up a P0704 error code...to my understanding it's from the air pump. My question is, I don't have a cat anymore so do I need an air pump at all and does it affect performance?

Someone else has the same error code and they have attributed it to clutch position switch,
