Pennzoil 5w30 - *$15 for 5 quarts*

Just sold a bunch of books back to amazon and figured I'd take a peek and see if they can beat the deals at Advance that's usually $22-30 for 5 quarts and a filter. I usually spend more since I always get a the M110 mobil1 filter. Car has to get me through at least the next 3 semesters of commuting to school and clinical and I haven't done my research yet to trust the cheap filters.

Anyways, I haven't ordered any yet to confirm (broke student, might need more books first), but it seems like a great chance to stock up. Even comes with same day shipping with Prime. Just coming to share.

Looks like you linked to the 10w-30, which is cheap, but the 5w-30 was around $35.

10W-30 is fine, unless you live in Antarctica.

As far as running in a Renny? Sure, my comment was more directed at the title of the thread.

What's in wankelbot's signature "Oil is oil."?

Yeah I know, I was just saying. "Oil is oil" is simplifying it a bit and I don't necessarily agree. That said, if you change your oil often then yes, most modern oils will be just fine.

Whoops didn't even see that. Made the mistake of thinking the search would only show me the "5w30" I punched in. Oh well. If it doesn't make your cut, you could just dump it into another car.

Yea I picked up from 5 qts 10w-30 Castrol GTX on amazon for $15.
Man that is so much cheaper than my usual oil. I have been a Royal Purple user for some time now; 7 bucks per qt!

You should take a look at some used oil analysis reports (done by Royal Purple themselves) done on Royal Purple in the Renesis..... You can find them in the Used oil analysis thread.

Search for posts by moderator Paimon. He had the oil tested and the results were not bad but the oil definitely did not live up to the price and hype.

Alright. I am from Illinois, so I also love supporting a local company.

The price never bothered, me. I even still change(d) the oil every 3k miles... I don't care if synthetics "last longer" I want the protection to be at peak levels.

Guess that's the going rate. I dedicated a whopping 90 seconds to the search. Punched in Pennzoil just because that's what I've been using. Call it supporting my PA.
